Previous to the launch of the air multiplier from Dyson the aesthetic quality of fans had never really occurred to me as being very important, however, I suppose that when something more pleasing on the eye comes along you begin to realise that the majority of traditional bladed fans are quite ugly in appearance and while this is not perhaps at the top of the list of qualities when looking for a fan, which is obviously a device to make one cool rather than to be admired, there can be no doubt that the aesthetic design of the bladeless fan has certainly not been overlooked by Dyson. The shape of the fans is quite simple and yet elegant or almost sculptural in the very modern sence of the word or genre, and the finishes are clean and contemporary whether you prefer the white and silver of the 10 inch fan or the silver and iron of the 12 inch fan. As well as being excellent at its' job the air multiplier makes a statement thus making its' design and technology a major talking point.
The Air Multiplier, as you would expect from a Dyson is an improvement on bladed fans mainly due to the even air propulsion that this new technology provides, rather than chopping the air, which gives irregular blasts, the Dyson could be compared with sitting next to an open window giving a more natural cooling breeze.
The bladeless fan offers all of the features that you would expect to find on a desk fan. The fan tilts backwords and forwards as is your want, which means that it can be placed on the floor or on a shelf and you will still get the cooling breeze to exactly where you require it, the fan can also oscillate from side to side to cover a larger area while still supplying a constant and even flow of air. One feature that some other fans have is the ability to select the power of the air that is propelled and Dyson have included a dimmer switch for this exact purpose giving you total control over the the strength of breeze that you require. It is difficult to find any negatives with the air multiplier and thankfully one of them is not the volume of noise that the fan gives out, which even on full power is still much more bareable than most other fans and more resembles a PC cooling fan.

When you receive your bladeless fan you will find the following:
- 1 Fan Base Unit
- 1 Circular Loop (fan head)
- 1 Operations Manual
- 1 Product registration card to register two year guarantee (available in UK only)
* Remember to register your fan to be entitled to the 2 year guarantee.
This is a section of the review that really needn't be here, however, it is very short so it may as well be included. Basically you will receive the base and the head of the fan, which need to be connected, this will take about 10 seconds as they click into each other with a bayonet connection.
When we look at this fan or even hear the description the safety credentials are instantly clear in that the fan has no blades thus not requiring a safety grille so you can put your hand straight through the circular loop with the only effect being that you will have a cooler hand, so the fan is completely safe around inquisitive children although it is obviously not a toy.

One of the major problems with a conventional fan is that the blades and the grille do collect a lot of dust and re circulate it, which is a problem for people with respiratory problems and children. However, with the bladeless fan this is obviously not a problem, not to say that the bladeless fan will be dust free but the ease in which it can be cleaned means that it isn't a problem, all you need to do is wipe around the circular loop avery now and then and it is done.
Perhaps the only negative aspect of the bladeless fan is the price which is RRP £199.99, which does seem quite a lot for a desk fan, so for some it may not be worth that but as with any new product the price will drop eventually and it is possible to buy them a bit cheaper than that online and we have compared the best prices for the Dyson Air Multiplier AM01 12 Inch Desk Fan and for the Dyson Air Multiplier AM01 10 Inch Desk Fan
